My Story

Picture
From a young age, Danielle’s competitive spirit and love of sport has been strong. This competitive spirit, combined with being raised by two United States Marines, has pushed Danielle to succeed, give her best, and persevere at all costs. After moving around the country with her parents, Danielle spent her junior high and high school years in West Palm Beach, Florida where she played volleyball, basketball, cross country, and track at the King’s Academy, earning six state titles in track and field. Her success paved the way for a full scholarship to run at Baylor University where she earned multiple All-Conference, All-Region and All-American honors, and qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 3000m Steeplechase.

Danielle set her sight on a professional running career, but shifted course after a sickness led her to cycling. Within two years, Danielle rose to the top of the amateur cycling scene and raced professionally in 2014, while maintaining a full time job and new marriage.

In 2015, Danielle decided to take a step back from racing and focus on her husband and career in pubic health. Yet, the drive to succeed and competitive spirit still remained.

In early 2017, Danielle put her running shoes back on, dusted off her bike, and decided this was her year to go after her dream of being a professional athlete. Within the span of eight months of training and racing, Danielle earned three national titles in duathlon, winning the USAT Long Course, Standard, and Sprint Distance Duathlon National Championships and placed third at the USAT Age Group Triathlon National Championships, earning her professional racing license.

In 2018, Danielle raced her first season as a pro triathlete. She set her sights to qualify for and race in the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, which after 6 races, she earned her spot and finished 19th. Danielle did this while working full-time in public health, commuting 8 to 10 hours a week for work, and training on average 15 hours per week. In an effort to take her game to the next level, Danielle quit her job and is eager to use her platform in triathlon to motivate and inspire others to relentlessly follow their dreams.

Danielle lives in Branson, Missouri with her husband, Grayson, and dog, George. When she is not training, she is coaching the Drury Triathlon team, building up SheBe Coaching, cooking, hiking with Grayson, and playing fetch with George.
